[photo-3d] Must people keep bashing what we love

I just read the following on a web site:
--
Pulse 3D is a new technology that allows you to view
Cartoons in 3D. No glasses, no special contraptions,
no polarized lenses that were used by 5,000 other
people before you -- just a mere plug-in.
--
This kind of thing pisses me off. Besides the fact
that what they are saying is grossly inaccurate as
well as implying what is nothing more than a lie.
I know I am preaching to the converted here, but here
I go anyway.
Of course it is just 3D in the sense of "Toy Story"
and that sort of stuff (except of very low quality).
So to imply that you don't need glasses yet that it is
still 3D is silly. Wouldn't that be just like selling
someone a box with 4 wheels on it and saying, "This
car is amazing, it uses no gas!"
And to only say that 5,000 people before you have used
3-D glasses is also of course off by hundreds of
thousands if not millions. It seems like a lot of the
people that like to sponge off of stereo 3-D's
popularity for the use of computer generated non
stereo 3d like to bash the very source of what they
are trying to take advantage of.
Maybe we should all take our realist cameras to the
next Siggraph convention or Comdex, and show them what
real 3-D is. If they aren't willing to look, we can
always beat them with the camera.
Perhaps if we all take just a few minutes to contact
this one offender and make them see more clearly what
they are doing, they may change there marketing
tactics.
Contact Spencer Brooks ( sbrooks@xxxxxxxxxxxx ), the
head of public relations of the pulse3d company. Just
explain the situation, please don't be nasty, or they
won't listen.
