Interesting thread.

I remember having seen a TV demonstration (mono-TV) of a system
seriously meant to promote wobble-TV. (The name was different 
of course.) It must have been over ten years ago, in the Netherlands.
Images of two TV cameras were shown in rapid succession, but 
not so quick as a flickering, I guess some 5 frames per second. 
If memory serves there even was a patent application for it.
The scene I remember was an outdoor scene (in a garden?).
(Since the effect still was not very satisfactory I don't have
futher records)

George Themelis mentions motion parallax looking out of an
airplane window. Did you ever look sideways out of a car on
a motor highway? The same effect occurs, moreover, I see a
marked lilliputism at medium distances. It is interesting with 
cows and windmills in a (stereo?)typical Dutch landscape.
I have to resist looking sideways when I am the driver :-)
