I would suggest a good starting point for a beginner would be to use a
single camera on a slide bar (such as the nifty Bogen bar from Dr. T.).
Slides could be easily used in one of the cheap 2x2x2 viewers or prints
can be trimmed and mounted on a card for use in a Holmes viewer or with
a lorgnette. Just warn them about moving objects. After they get a few
good images they will be looking for a Realist/ Kodak etc. and bugging
you with mounting questions.
