Folks who are participating will be very pleased to learn the names of
their member peers! This is shaping up to be a great folio/exchange.
Over 20 respondents so far! For those still considering the program I'd
like to address a few more questions/concerns I've received:
1)" I like people shots, not scenics. This sounds like it is too narrow
in scope" ?
Not at all....people shots are encouraged and can be included within the
context and theme of U.S. Views. How can your photo express to a "
visitor" what your area is like? A portrait ( with brick wall, or any
other non-distinctive backdrop) can be taken anywhere, but tells nothing
about your locale. However a wide angle shot, including
people, friends, family etc shared equally ( in a photographic sense) with
their surroundings would be perfectly acceptable. MOST stereo cameras
produce wide angle images that suit this style of photography. We want
to see your loved ones enjoying the surroundings! Would you take a photo
of a great pyramid by cropping in tight to show your friends expression
of wonderment?
( yes, in a portrait folio perhaps) Would it not be better to compose a
photo of your friend pointing in wonderment to the grand pyramid before
him, and include the pyramid in the photo? ( this is a scenic
folio....use some judgement) Examples will be provided in the
membership info. If you are doubtful that your image fits the criteria,
please E-mail the administrators to discuss and/or mail an alternate
image as described in the membership info packet. Additonal comments
questions welcome. Thankyou.
