[photo-3d] Format Debate!!

The debate about medium format vs 35mm is following similar lines on
this group as it did on the 2d groups. Remarkable. Same arguments put
forth, same defensive postures.
I did neglect to mention the problem with projection of medium format
stereo. Mostly because there is no easy way to do this. There was and is
nothing made to project medium format pairs mounted in the currently
available paper-cardboard mounts from Rocky Mountain Memories. Unless
Paul Talbot knows something I don't! I do know you could use 2 medium
format slide projectors synced together. The Hasselblad PCP-80 may be
suited for this. Be prepared to mortgage your house 3 or 4 times just
to buy one of these without a lens. A lens may require increasing the
US national debt to finance it.
There are other projectors. Mamiya Pro Cabin series for 6x6 and 6x7,
the latter being a manual only job. Kinderman makes one, but I have
never even seen a picture of one of these. I have an old Baush and
Lomb projector I found under a stack of Ecktagraphics at a camera
flea market. These are rarer than titanium and no way could you sync
one with another even if you could find 2 of them.
I would also think there are alignment problems associated with
dual-projectors. I recall reading about this subject on this group
concerning dual Kodaks for 35mm.
At any rate, to debate this subject further would pound it into the
dirt beyond merit.
Yes, medium format is technically better than 35mm.
NO, don't run out and sell your Realist!!!
Medium format has problems of its own, size-costs-projection, etc.
But if you want to play with this stuff and have some fun, YEAH go for it.
After all, fun is the name of the game.
