Last summer, my partner and I opened up our cabin when the
snow allowed us to get in. We have an outdoor grill that plugs
into the house propane supply (handy). The first time we fired
it up, he lit it and I was doing other things. He said "There's
a mouse in the grill" but since he went ahead and lit it, I figured
he was joking. After a couple of minutes I went over and sure enough,
there was a mouse who was crammed up against one side of the lava rock
looking very unhappy. Needless to say, I was astounded!
Shortly thereafter he must have figured to take his chances with
us was better than staying put, and he jumped about a foot straight
up thru the bars and took off.
My partner then proceeded to take the hamburger and make as if
he was going to cook on the grill. NOOOOOOOOO! I said - since
I didnt particularly want mouse dropping flavored hamburgers
no matter how well they were cooked. Also in that part of the
country there is a significant danger from the Hantavirus.
So I pulled out the grill bars, washed them REALLY well, and
swabbed them down with alcohol. Even then, I had my hamburger
really, really well done,
Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures...
