I was at Radio Shack on Friday (picking up things)
that I thought I needed for my XA-2 project when
I saw an interesting compact fluorescent lamp. The
lamp tube is aprox. 2 inch U shaped. I thought it
might be good for viewing 2x2x2 slides.

I bought one and tried it out and it is very bright
for it's small size. I plan to buy another one. I
posted a picture of it on the P3D file section. It
cost $12 US in Canada. The Radio Shack part number
is 610-0853.
