That is quite common. I suspect that 50% or more of Sputniks
are made with that "feature."

The approach is fairly straightforward: un-mesh the lenses, adjust
focus on each lens separately, then reassemble. The Sputnik uses
front element focussing, so each lens is set by loosening the collar
around the lens and turning the front element independently of the
collar.
Rocky Mountain Memories offers a Sputnik "fix up" service that
includes synchronizing the focus among all three lenses (left,
right, and viewfinder). The other parts of the service are
installation of four baffles for reduction of internal reflections,
and several modifications to minimize light leaks. The fix up
kit is also available for purchase for do-it-yourself installation.
