Unfortunately, many people respond to some teeny tiny tangential aspect
of the original thread which isn't even remotely hinted at in the
subject line. Those threads never die. What is more frustrating, and
this
has happened to me on many occasions, whatever it was that I was 
inquiring about never does get answered because the tangential thread
takes off from the very first response. Then I have read all the bogus
crap to see if anyone really is answering my question.
