I really wanted this to die, but can't let it go for some reason... Guess
it's that 3D bug affecting me again!
I WANT TO BE CLEAR - THIS IS NOT ABOUT DALIA - THIS IS ABOUT THE NSA TRADE
SHOW RULES.

Pre-registration payment in all cases was due on or before the 16th - per
the forms. To me, it is reasonable to assume that if payment has not arrived
by the specified date, that any "held" tables would be relinquished.

I guess my question is, "Should everyone be required to spell out every rule
every time they communicate with anyone?" That would get tedious/tiresome. I
understood that if I wanted a room in the hotel, I had to call before
others, and put a Credit Card on the room (ie - pay) to hold it. This is
normal business practice. I do not see how we can fault the NSA folks for
offering non-payed for tables to the next people in line who had money in
hand. They need to sell out the convention, and if a person with a
reservation does not pay, they should expect their reservation to be
cancelled.
To me this is a "black & white" issue. I suppose you can try to create a
gray area if you like, but I don't agree that there is one. Rules are rules.
The fact of the matter is that you DO NOT KNOW if someone will come or not.
As the old saying goes, "a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush".
Imagine if the people responsible for setting this whole thing up accepted
no money from anyone and just hoped everyone would actually show up. Many
more people might end up unhappy. Again, pre-payment for a reservation is a
normal practice in the world - and as I quoted in an earlier message - was a
stated policy for this convention.

I STRONGLY suspect there will be more rules in the future for just that
reason. SIGH... =(
