I changed the battery and my Kiev shutter was still
not firing - so I opened the camera. While the shutter
is electronically fired (there are two solenoids in
the lens barrel) the shutter firing mechanism is
rather mechanical and, in my opinion, hard to twin. I
prefer a fully electronic shutter system. Good Luck!
