I must repeat that it is NOT the absolute amount of convergence
but the DIFFERENCE in convergence angle which counts.
When reading a flat book there might be no significant difference 
at all, regardless of the distance at which you hold the book.

As in any stereopair this wiil depend upon the DIFFERENCE in
convergence between looking at the farthest and the nearest points 
of the scene. The angle which your eyes swing from looking at the
distant points to the closests points, that angle counts.
