I hope you didn't get that viewer for $5,000.00 on e-bay! I heartily agree
with Dr. T's phrase "just do it". My first stereo rig was two $1.99 A&P
disposable cameras velcroed onto a ruler. I fired the two shutters
simultaneously and experimented with different lens seperations and
compositions. I actually got some nice shots (also some lousy ones).
There's a lot to be said for 50's cameras like the Realist, especially if
you use a light meter (if this is unfamiliar don't worry, it's EASY!). On
the other hand one of the joys of being a 3D photographer is tinkering - try
pairing point and shoots, SLRs or even polaroid cameras - you can be sure
someone else has tried it before and can advise you. Although there's an
amazing amount of information available on the web, the most valuable
information is what you pick up from personal experience shooting and
