Well, avoiding the empty/loaded problem is easy. Just try gently turning
the rewind knob before opening the back. If the knob doesn't turn, don't
open it.
As for remembering the type of film, there are a couple of possibilities:
1) Stick with one kind of film.
2) Tape the film box top to the camera, or just slip it into the case.
3) Get little sticky dots in different colors, and invent a code for the
film types you use.
4) Buy a few more Realists, and just use one for each type of film you
like. Then you can engrave the film speed on the camera.
5) Get a pair of X-Ray Spex(tm) so you can see inside the camera. (NB:
These may cause fogging on high speed film.)
