Peter,
I was reviewing a bunch of Minox stuff on various Web sites
a couple of weeks ago (my brothers and I were all into submini
at one time or another--Minolta for the two of us and Minox
for the third) and was reading the instructions for the Minox
binocular attachment. This is the only way to do telephoto
shots with the Minox since it doesn't have interchangeable
lenses.
Interesting to read of another example that shows that this has been done.
I have had the idea for some time, and I know that Exacta once made an
adapter for monoculars or one half of a pair of binoculars for their
cameras. Interestingly although these have interchangeable lenses, as far
as I can remember (I can check) this adapter also fitted onto a standard
lens via the filter thread.
I have two Exactas but neither is working properly nor do I have two of the
adaptors or binoculars compatible with them. A twin rig like this would not
have the focussing problem using these SLR's but it would be a lot heavier
than a Minox or even my Fed with the compact binoculars attached. Thanks for
the rest of the information. P.J.Homer
