I will definitely let everyone know how the Provia
400F tests out. But, it could be as much as 2 months
before I can get a hold of even a single roll.

Fuji said that it can be safely pushed to (drum roll
please.....) 1600ASA! Which is 2 stops for those that
are counting. That means that if you were to use
64Kodachrome and are in a situation where you have to
shoot at f/5.6 at a 50th of a second you could shoot
the provia 400F without pushing at around 100th/sec at
f/11! Or, if you push it to 1600 you could shoot at
200th/sec at f/16!! I shot many of the monkey
pictures in Japan with 100F pushed to 200, and some
pushed to 400, and when I look at the slides in my
viewer, I can't tell (or remember) which ones were
shot without pushing, and which ones were pushed up to
2 stops! If the 400F has a similar quality, watch out
for my series of stereo photos using only a candle or
2 for lighting!

Paul Talbot brought up a very good point. When using
a 50's 3-D camera you may not be able to shoot faster
than 100th/sec or at more than f/16, so if you think
you are shooting only sunny 16 stuff the 400F won't do
you any good. But if you shoot with double modern
cameras or an RBT, or some of the 50's cameras that
can use it you will be ok. One thing to keep in mind,
if you are shooting in open shade (usually around 2
stops darker than sunny 16) you will actually be able
to shoot 100th/sec at f16. Gotta love that depth of
field!
