Not really true.  If you keep curling and recurling, you will end up 
with wavy film that doesn't sit flat.

The best way to eliminate curl is to find a lab that doesn't roll the 
film so tightly.  If they make a 4 inch roll, there is much less 
problem.  I've seen labs roll the film small enough to fit into a 
plastic slide box.  Ick.

Also, pick up your film promptly.  The longer is stays curled up, the 
worse the problem becomes.  I get mine hot from the machine if I can.

If needed, I reverse curl the film at the lab, and bring it home that 
way. I  check it every so often, and when it's fairly flat, I keep in 
flat in a long, dust-free box.  A long weight on top keeps it 
perfectly flat until I mount it, however long that might be.  :^)
