Why don't you folks having roll curl problems with uncut film ask the processor to sleeve it then wind it inside a empty sleeve tube, of which most processor have hundreds. These tubes are about 3" ID. Even if it is just sleeved it will prevent them from winding it tight and sticking it in na old film cannister. Alternately tell them to sleeve it and leave it hanging. You ought to get something for your 7 or 8 bucks!
