This does have to do with the future of 3d!

I'm surprised that ANY dvd's would be taken from video sources! Most are of
films, wouldn't they be encoded progressive? Why do I have to spend a LOT
more money on a dvd player that plays progressive, instead of always having
to do "the grunt work" of interlace conversion? (24 to 30 fps also??) I wish
I could play the dvd's on my computer in progressive, since the interlace
format on my non-interlaced monitor causes anomolies in action scenes.

What's up, really???
