About the VM-D, the "Chinese Set" model D included a bluish filter
that you put in the 
so something similar with any viewer.  For the red button since
I repaint the lamp compartment, I mix a bit of blue with the white
paint.  I have bought a paint coloring mixture... All I need is
a very small amount of it to give a blue tint.  It is a trial
and error for me.
