I am not answering for Dr. T., but yes, I can diverge/converge 
my eyes more easily in a hand viewer than on a projected 
screen. I am not even going to try to explain why as I don't 
really know. I just know that I can easily fuse images in a 
hand viewer that I cannot when projected. My viewer is a Dr. 
T. widened halogen Red Button and my projection system is a 
TDC 116 with 5" lenses and a 60" screen.
