These are two different kinds of magnifications.
The 50x is on-screen magnification.  Depending on
where you sit in the room, the actual magnification
most probably will be less than in a viewer.  For
example if you are sitting by the TDC projector with
4" lenses then this is equivalent to viewing with
a lens with 4" lenses (100mm = half the magnification
of a typical stereo slide viewer).
