> Now, can we move on to Stereo Photography?
What's there to talk about? Once you have a Realist, that certain special
film and some glass mounts (and a beer) you've got everything you need for
great stereo, right?... A while back there was some discussion of the most
effective way to push Provia 100F. It was mentioned that many
photographers rate the film at 80, and thus a one push stop becomes 160 and
a two push stop becomes 320. A while back I used a rating of 400 and did a
two stop push, and quite a few of the slides were a bit dark. This time I
set my trusty light meter to 320, put two rolls in my twin Ricoh XR-10Ms
and had A&I push process two stops. I'm pleased with both the quality of
the exposures and the sharpness and lack of grain. I took a bunch of shots
before and during sunrise. The extra speed let me freeze traffic at 1/30
or 1/60 while still using an aperture of F5.6 or 8. I've concluded that
life is too short to use anything but ProviaF. Can't wait to try out some
of the 400F. (Maybe pushed to 1600!) Jim Harp
