[photo-3d] dominant eyes and viewfinders

I'm not sure there is an automatic relation between eye and hand dominance--we need some input
here from an ophthal/optician type. Rather, I think that the dominant side gets set at an early
age and depends on the visual acuity of each eye. In emergency rooms it's common practice to patch
both eyes in a young child when one eye is injured. It's thought better to make the child
temporarily blind than risk affecting stereo vision. I haven't heard whether this has been proven.

In my own case, I'm right-handed and very much left eye dominant. I've always attributed this to
the better acuity in my left (20/40) vs my right (20/70). Maybe the dominance would be less if I'd
worn glasses as a toddler. I still see stereo just fine when my vision is corrected. My main
handicap is using cameras with left-sided viewfinders. Sighting with my right eye just seems
unnatural, so I'm forced to peer with my left, and my nose gets in the way. For this reason (and
the lack of parallax), I've always thought the bottom-situated viewfinder to be the Realist's best
feature.

I've heard that right-handed golfers who are left eye dominant have an advantage, and right-handed
tennis players who are right eye dominant have an edge.
