[photo-3d] TDC 716A projector question

Hi everyone.

I've just received my first stereo projector and everything seems to 
work fine, except for one very big annoyance.

The blade in the carrier which goes in the opposite motion of the 
slide to mask it during transport pulls back and covers a few mm of 
the slide during projection. You have to nudge the carrier at the end 
of motion when your pushing in the slide to get the blade to open. 
After this it seems to snap back just enough to cover part of the 
image.

Is this an easily fixable or common problem? I can't even see how to 
get into the carrier to fix the thing. Is there some tension adjust I 
can't find? If this is not fixable, is it astronomically improbable 
to ever come across another one? 

BTW, I've been waiting for about a week now to be approved by the 
moderator on sell-3d.
