What I am saying is that the declining (almost non existent)
stereo market in the 1970s would not have supported a
major investment to bring a new camera model.  Otherwise
someone else, if not David White, would have tried it.

Stereo camera operations were closing/closed and the
used camera market was full with cameras for sale for
very low prices.  David White introduced the Realist
Custom and the Macro Realist but sales were disappointing.
True, these are not modern cameras and the Macro
Realist was specialized.  Priced at over $500 it was
too expensive for the average consumer (today this
same camera sells for over $3,000).

In the early 1970s there were no 300,000-500,000 people
shooting stereo!  My estimate would be a few thousands
at best.  After some initial peak, sales would level to
50-100 units/year IMO.  Hardly enough to pay for the
investement.

You cannot compare this situation with Apple and 
computers today!  It is like comparing oranges and...
what should I say...  apples? :)
