I believe this connection to be a bit more complicated. Someone mentioned
that they experienced discomfort converging on close-up objects Vs. the
projection screen. At least that is how I understand the poster's
comment. How come it is that you can make jumps between infinity and
close-up with out discomfort or even noticing it in real life? Again,
there is more than a simple connection between focus and convergence

Perhaps I am missing something here? I can - as can all of you most
likely, focus on a distant scene and then immediately look at a close-up
object with no real problems. As I type this, I can see the buildings at
a distance. I then focus on my laptop screen and keyboard, then at the
dog 30 feet away and back again.
