A couple of comments.   When used in this manner, you actually have the
option of three different stereo bases, depending on which pair of lenses
you choose.  Using the center two with a close-up attachement diopter lens
is neat for tabletop work, closeups of flowers, etc.

Another option for scanning.  I use an Artiscan 2400FS scanner which I
bought at Fry's Electronics.  It scans either slides or negatives (the
software changes the images to positives).  It comes with a separate carrier
for each (film in strip form or mounted), and more can be ordered.

The slide carrier has dividers for 2x2 mono slides.  Using a Dremel tool,
these dividers can be ground down (every other one) so that mounted stereo
pairs can also be accomodated.
