It's interesting to note that the web site describing the giant
hyper stereo viewer,
http://www.cs.washington.edu/homes/cassidy/tele/
call it a telestereoscope.

Checking my dictionary, I couldn't find this term, but on the
net I found numerous references to it, going back to the
turn of the century. The definition of telestereoscope is,
an apparatus which optically alters interocular separation
and thus disparity.
