All 50's (and the majority of 60's and 70's, too) cars rusted...the 
extensive use of galvanised steel is a realitve newcomer to mass 
produced automobiles.

As an investment, though, if you had kept the M3 new in the box 
for forty years it might have tripled in value, where the Kodak might 
only have increased by 10 or 20 per cent and the TDC projector 
increased by 50 per cent...less inflation.  Today's best bet looks like 
the SI 3D issue...only $3.99 cover price, soon to be worth a zillion dollars!
