I don't think anyone sells new stereoscope lenses that are made
the traditional way. The first NSA convention I went to, you could
buy any number of them for around $5 a pair. After that, you
would find a couple pairs if you were lucky and they cost lots
more.

Do not despair. I have been able to get eyeglass quality lenses
at the local optometric warehouse. They usually sell only to
doctors, filling their prescriptions. When I asked the manager
if I could get some of the blank lenses, he was as helpful
as could be. I got a pair of +5 dioptor lenses for $7-8. They
are plastic. If you have a band saw, you can cut them to shape
no problem. You will have to make some sort of holder to
fit the odd shaped chip that you will get. The lenses are
miniscus. Since these are intended for eyeglasses, I have noticed
absolutely no fringing.
