in new posts.
DrT should have followed his own advice on that last post! ;-)
I know JR has mentioned before that:

While the point has merit, internet discussion lists like
this one require a more practical approach. There are
several reasons, which we don't need to go into in detail
here. But U.S. writers need to understand that in other
countries a local phone call (and thus time on the internet)
is often metered. Thus, all these extra duplicated bytes
we send out cost many subscribers real money out of their
pockets. For this and other reasons, all posters are asked
to please limit quoted material to the minimum required.
Often even better is the Bob H. style of writing one-sentence
reference to the current topic. For an example, see how I
started this post!
