[photo-3d] An update on twinned digitals

In the last exciting episode, it was revealed that my pair of Canon A5
cameras had CCDs that weren't alligned with each other. While thinking of
methods to shim the baseplates of the cameras, I thought of another A5 I
had owned in the past and sold.
I contacted the current owner and asked if I could check the allignment of
the CCD in his camera as it compared to my current pair. Sho'nuf, it
matched up very well with unit "A" of my pair. So I loaned him unit "B" of
my pair for the weekend, and asked him to check it out with an eye towards
a camera body swap. Today, he swapped with me. He now has a camera just
as functional for single use, and I have a better matched pair for stereo
use.
So the solution to my problem wasn't technical at all. It just involved
renewing communication with a fellow photographer. The project is back on
track.
Next step, external shutter relase connector.
