And continuing on the IMAX 3D news...

Rumour has it that the new 3D IMAX theater in Perth, Australia will open 
on Thursday December 7.  The theatre sits about 300 people and if I 
remember rightly has a screen approx 24 x 18 metres in size.  The theatre 
uses the newer IMAX SR projectors which use a smaller four segment drum 
than the projectors used in larger IMAX theatres (e.g. Melbourne & Sydney).
The theatre will also only be using polarised 3D glasses - not the more
bulkier LC shutter glasses.

I'm told the theatre will open with Encounter in the 3rd Dimension (in 3D),
Fantasia 2000 (2D) and Michael Jordan to the MAX (2D).

The theatre is located at Lake Street, Northbridge.

This brings the number of IMAX 3-D theatres in Australia to 5.
