[photo-3d] [ANN] Stereo image viewer update

I've posted an update of my free stereo image viewer for MacOS on the web
server, at <http://vision-lab.psy.ohio-state.edu/crowell/software.html>.

-Jim C.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stereogler is an application for viewing stereo image pairs in a variety of
formats in a variety of ways. It's written in REALBasic 2.1.2.

What¹s New in 1.3 (11/00)

The ability to import interlaced images & display them in any of the
supported viewing formats.

Two options (accessed on the ³Interlaced² pane of the Preferences dialog)
for how images should be scaled in converting to & from interlaced format.
I¹d recommend usually leaving both of these on the ³stretch² option (the
other option throws pixels away). The exception is when you¹re importing an
interlaced image & displaying it in interlaced viewing format; in this case,
setting Stereogler to stretch it on import & then shrink it for displaying
will show you the image the way it looks in the file.

A very simple slide-show utility. Opening a file (JPS, anaglyph, or
interlaced) using either the standard menu or keyboard commands or by
dragging its icon from the Finder onto the Drop Window enables two new menu
items, ³Open Previous² and ³Open Next² (Command-, and Command-.
respectively). These will open the previous or next image file (in
alphabetical order, skipping non-image files) in the same folder. When you
get to the end of the folder, it wraps around to the beginning. Note that
it assumes that all files have the same viewing format, e.g. all anaglyph or
all JPS.

An option to display image file names (in yellow in the upper-left corner of
the screen). Toggle on & off using ³Show/Hide Titles² under the Viewing
Mode menu (Command-T). Defaults to ³off².

A new viewing mode, Haploscopic. This attaches the left & right images to
two separate monitors. OK, so I mainly wrote this one in so I could use the
lab¹s head-mounted display as a $12,000 slide viewer ;-) . At the moment it
assumes that the two monitors are identical both in physical size and pixel
dimensions; if anyone wants anything fancier, let me know.

Fixed a bug that was causing Stereogler to not use the extra space properly
when the menu bar was hidden.

I think I fixed a bug that would cause Stereogler to occasionally attain a
higher level of consciousness (withdrawing from Earthly interactions) when
it ran out of memory in the background.
