My little slide board required no ingenuity.  Two pieces of scrap wood with 
a 1/4" "T-nut" press fit into a recessed hole, two nails and a bit of 
glue.   After the first couple of attempts, I added 1cm markings along the 
back edge for recording the base for each exposure pair.
