Joseph Petrarca said "...most of us, even older folks and especially kids,
are using highly sophisticated computers...."

The reason I like the Realist is that I need to use the most sophisticated
computer of all...the brain. It is not that hard. 50 years ago, I bought my
first camera, a folding job that had a 4.5 lens, no rangefinder, and no
exposure meter. I learned to set the f-stop and distance without any aid
other than my judgement. Eventually it was all down hill because cameras
developed a mind of their own, and I gave up serious photography.

Now I am back to using my brain when shooting, and it's great fun. I
actually have to stop and think before shooting. Using Dr T's book for a
guide I have shot three rolls, and they all (except for the one the I forgot
to rewind before taking the back off), came out great. The frames that
didn't get light struck in the stupid human trick were also right on. Now to
learn to see what constitutes a great picture.

BTW, the Gossen Pilot exposure meter has an accessory shoe to fit the hot
shoe of the Realist if you want to go that way.
