Joel Alpers has a nice introduction in the RMM 3D Encyclopedia.
See http://www.rmm3d.com/3d.encyclopedia/hyper.html  I can probably
find some more references with a little more time....

BTW, RMM now has a very nice dual cable release for hypers with two
mechanically triggered cameras.  It allows over two feet of camera
separation, much more than is possible with the Olympus dual release.
And the price is right, too!  :-)
