Another possible way to pair a couple of OM-1's is to do
it mechanically through the double cable release (I think
Reel 3D still sells it). It can be tricky to get the two
shutters to fire simultaneously. But the way I get there
is to freeview a TV screen, preferably showing a white or
at least neutral screen through both camera lenses at the
same time with the camera backs open. The object here is to use
a fast enough shutter speed so that you don't quite get a
full-screen image. It doesn't matter which part of the
screen has the dark blanking, what's important is that both
views be the same. Also, once you've adjusted the two cables
to match exact exposure timing, you must keep the cables
routed in the same path so the effective lengths can't vary.
You really can mechanically fine-tune your exposures this way.
