I've considered getting 28-70 zooms for my Ricohs.  I don't think I'd even
try to match in between lens settings.  Just being able to use the two outer
settings, 28mm and 70mm, would save me from most of the lens changes I have
to do when shooting.  I've read criticisms of the Rebel lenses here, but
I've also seen lots of beautiful sharp images that Jim Norman has created
