My, how desperately I wish I had not read this suggestion.  I
fear I will be unable to sleep for weeks as a result of the
nightmares I'll have after envisioning such a situation.  ;-)

All kidding aside, I don't think a free-for-all links list
would be a good idea.  The services of egroups are certainly
not needed to create such a page (anyone with cgi rights on
their web space could install a free script to accomplish the
same thing).  Discussion of the details is not within the
charter of the list, but I would strongly caution anyone who
finds the idea alluring to think again before investing any
time or effort setting up something like that.
