Most of issues have been touched already (I'm always behind). I've been
using paired Pentax ZX-M bodies for almost two years and so far had no
problems. ZX-M model is auto exposure, but manual focus. It makes it
cheaper. One can use any other model from ZX family (there are few of them).
Having manual focus guarantees that both cameras are always ready to shoot
at the same time (no focus "hunting") and are focused for the same distance.
Still others might prefer auto focus option. Boris so far seems to be happy
with that gear (and he does the photography for the living), so I guess it's
a good "rating". Pairing doesn't require any camera surgery. You can buy two
remote release cables and connect them (a bit costly solution), or buy just
one cable and connect it to a part of IC socket to insert to the remote
release socket on the second camera. Non-flash synchronization is very good,
flash synchro success rate is almost OK with the shutter speed of 1/30.
Canon Rebel models are probably good too, but I find them less comfortable
to use (the body is bulkier then Pentax ZX).
