I emailed Digikey and asked for any radiation specs. My guess is that this
country is so heavily regulated for xray emitters that this is a complete non
issue, but I did ask.
Also, in addition to the OP-3 filter screening out 98% of UV (calculated for
solar radiation), the viewer has a translucent diffuser filter 1/8 inch thick,
plus two coated achromats (each lens has dual achromats and an air space). I
don't think UV could be an issue here either.
BTW I also stuck an OP-3 shield on my King's Inn viewer, which has fluorescent
illumination (it also had the lenses replaced with achromats, so it's actually
useful-- the original lenses in the King's Inn are about as bad as they get.
