[photo-3d] Paris in 3d

If you have an opportunity to come to Paris, do not forget to spend at least
half a day (closed on mondays) at this exhibition. You will see there many
excellent vintage pictures from the 1850's, uncredible lenticular prints and
"photostereosynthesis", outstanding holograms, but the exhibition of good modern
stereo pictures was done through very poor methods, since the managers of the
exhibition did not accept to follow the recommendations of the Stereo-Club
Français. The "virtual reality" show is also rather poor.
The catalogue (format 10x12", 290 pages, 1.7 kg, US$ 60) is very luxurious,
with plenty of color reproductions of outstanding stereo pictures, but these ones
are displayed in such a way that it is hard to see them in depth, since the size
of the stereo pictures does not match the stereoscope given with the book.
With the help of Pierre Parreaux, I wrote a report of the exhibition for
publication in the issue of december of the "Bulletin du Stéréo-Club Français". If
anyone accepts to translate it into English, we will mail you a sample by the
post office and the text by e-mail. It is free for publication anywhere, but you
need to mention the references of the original text. Our images will also be
available for publication, under the same conditions.
