Two cents from Ron Labbe:

First, the guy's name is Eric Howlett (actually, he lives about 3 miles from
me!)
Second, the article is in Volume 8 issue 3 (not 30!) of Stereo World...
Jul/Aug 1981 (!)

Bob Aldrige was correct in his answer "Large Expanse Extra Perspective". He
wins the 3D Who Wants to be a Millionaire~
