My assumption is that the foldover aspect is to protect the 
film chip (especially the emulsion side). Obviuosly it won't 
protect like a glas mount, but it will protect when you lie it 
down or stack it with others.

I can't beleive you just stack your images in bare Albion 
mounts with all their sharp corners just waiting to scratch 
something!
