The stereo slide show this evening at the Austin
Artplex was a smashing success! The "Monsters
of Paris" show by SCSC member Gary Schwartz was
the headline event. Gary did a fantastic job
assembling an interesting collection of images,
and presenting them in entertaining fashion. He
used live narration (complete with phony French
accent) and background live violin by Elizabeth
Daniel Marquis.

Gary's friend Michael Esposito of Austin did an
incredible job both organizing the event and
rounding up a large and appreciative audience.
Michael said he turned away about 50 attempted
RSVPs after cutting off the response list at 85
persons!

The headline event was preceded by local club
member Gary Nored's presentation of a sampling
of his many stunning scenic images, primarily
of West Texas, but also of the Hill Country of
Central Texas.

Rocky Mountain Memories was able to set up a display
of many forms of 3D (Holmes format, View Magic, 2x2,
anaglyph, and medium format slides) for attendees to
enjoy during the pre- and post-projection reception.
Also available for browsing were copes of Ferwerda's
"bible" and DrT's treatise on the Realist.

The phenomenal turnout for the event left some of
us wondering: is free wine and refreshments the
key to drawing the public into a 3D presentation?
