I'm pretty sure he has more than one viewer. As I understand
it, he does have one with even shorter FL, but that is not the
one that he brought to the Green Bay and Mesa conventions.

I know that is true for Alan, and many others as well. But before
anyone embarks down that path, be forewarned that Alan has an almost
unfathomable amount of time and effort invested in lens evaluation
over a number of years. If you are not a committed experimenter
(or don't have the budget to devote to the pursuit), you can reap
the rewards of Alan's extensive research by buying one of his viewer
products. His slogan "Serious viewers for Serious viewer's" can be
taken to heart--even if the English teacher wouldn't approve. ;-)
If a lens makes it into one of Alan's products (including the MF 3D
viewer kit available at RMM) you can be sure it delivers--both optical
performance and good value.
