I just have to say AMEN to that! Having only seen my own pathetic MF
images taken with a Sputnik, my sharp Realist images are a giant step up...

I jumped in for a spud and a good viewer too, and just as quickly jumped
out. Personally I would probably go to the expense of having my camera
adjusted, or get a better one but I've found several problems: I find
mounting them to be a nightmare. I'm way too spoiled by RBT jigs and
Spicer mounts to settle with futzing around with larger pieces of film
trying to get them precisely aligned.
Also, I don't like the fact that I can't project them. I know that the
best viewing experience is with a good hand viewer, but I have a tremendous
amount of fun inviting friends over to project my vacation slides. Too bad
MF mounts won't fit in my TDC. :-(
I think I got lucky in that my first Realist takes razor sharp
photos. It's also a system that allows easy, precise mounting,
convenience, and the availability of high quality hand viewers and
affordable projectors. That's a package that's hard to beat at any price.
