With a lot of work and skill you can create excellent copies mechanically.
However, if you're like me and don't have the skill or patience the digital
method wins hands down.

If you want to retouch the images and create new slides your only choice is
to get scans done and output slides digitally. I think the highest
resolution of the Kodak Photo CD format is sufficient to capture the detail
in a 35mm slide and allow re-touching and output to a slide recorder.
Advanced Digital Imaging (www.adiweb.com) will make Photo CD scans from
Realist format slides for a few dollars each, although you should check with
them before submitting anything. www.slides.com offers high quality slide
recording from Photoshop or other digital files for $4.00 ($8.00 a pair)
